Writing a news and sending newsletter on a regular basis is a great way to keep the website fresh and have people returning to your website. It is a great way to build trust in you and your business. Smoothgreen offers you the tools to let you do that.

Smoothgreen allows you to publish news using the content management interface. The news automatically get published and expire based on the rules set by the content publisher. So, the site visitor always gets to see fresh news. In case he wants to see archived news, he can do that.

Smoothgreen also allows you to easily create, edit and publish news from RSS feeds. Advanced features enable you to create professional looking news and newsletter from RSS feeds quickly.

Smoothgreen Application Portal 2.0 allows an organization to manage news and announcements, which are relevant for the date and time that they announced (which differ from events, which are relevant for when and where they happen, not so much when they are announced). Some of the features of the News tool include:

  • The ability for users to browse news by day, week, or month.
  • The option to include an image that will appear on the summary page of the section, as well as larger image that will appear in the body of the news.
  • The option of providing contact information for each news item. Contact information can either be entered manually, or can be an existing user within the system. If the latter, then if the account information changes for the user, the changes will automatically be updated in all news that has that user as the contact.
  • The most recently added news can be summarized on the summary page of each section, along with other current information from other tools.
  • Full integration with the search utility.
  • Even though news can only be added to one section, it can be "cross-posted" to other sections so that it appears with the other section's own news.
  • News can be added in the future, and will only become visible to the general user population when it becomes current.
  • By using the personalization features, users can have the entire contents of news sent to them in email messages when new news is added to a particular section.
